  • Ten Essential Doctrines for Biblical Apologetics
by Christopher Cole on October 26, 2021 at 5:15 pm

    1. The faith that we are defending must begin with, and necessarily include, the triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – who, as God, condescends to create and redeem.  2. God’s covenantal revelation is authoritative by virtue of what it is, and any covenantal, Christian apologetic will necessarily stand on and utilize that The post Ten Essential Doctrines for Biblical Apologetics appeared first on Reformation Charlotte.

  • Oprah Drama Bemoans ‘Modern-Day Forms of Slavery:’ ‘System Designed to Subjugate’
by Alexa Moutevelis on October 27, 2021 at 1:48 am

The Oprah Winfrey Network’s (OWN) drama Queen Sugar has a college student liken social justice concerns such as "voter suppression" and “discrimination” with “modern-day forms of slavery,” and offers praise for "The Squad" and Stacey Abrams. In the October 26 episode “They Would Bloom and Welcome You,” Micah West (Nicholas L. Ashe) is on a vocal collegiate quest to highlight the plight of African Americans. His professor, Parker Campbell (Amirah Vann), challenges and is ultimately impressed by Micah’s presentation and his answers. Micah: Thank you. Thank you for your attention in this exploration of the processes by which enslaved Africans from diverse societies created new cultures in the Americas and on the present day status of surviving Maroon cultures, in Suriname and French Guiana, Jamaica, Colombia and elsewhere. Professor: Well, hold on, Mr. West. Micah: Yes. Professor: I wanna interrogate that a little bit more. Micah: Okay. Professor: So, what are these modern-day forms of slavery that you refer to? Micah: Redlining, voter suppression, school defunding, employment discrimination, loan discrimination, mass incarceration. Professor: Oh, that's a list, it's not an argument. Micah: The list is the argument. It's... It's evidence. Professor: Evidence of a flawed system, yes, but isn't every system flawed in some way? Micah: Perhaps, but not every system is designed to subjugate a specific group of people. Professor: So then how does that make Black-Americans Maroons? Micah: If... the structures of a system are designed to keep a people out of neighborhoods, out of government, out of education, out of the workforce, and in some instances, out of society, and in prisons, and in a constant state of danger, what else do you call that, but being on the run, out in the wild? Professor: [Clapping] Thank you, Mr. West. Micah: Thank you.  Queen Sugar isn’t the only show focused on comparing such societal ills to even larger ones. While this show compares them to “modern-day forms of slavery,” Paramount+’s Evil towards the end of its most recent season, featured a pastor claiming “redlinings” and “police shootings” are a “spiritual attack.” As if to prove the American "system is designed to subjugate a specific group of people," in the episode “Or Maybe Just Stay There,” police raid Nova Bordelon's (Rutina Wesley) home with SWAT team gear, wantonly pointing their weapons at her and referring to her as “liberal trash” and a “professional shit-stirrer” for her journalistic and activist crusade to defund the police. It is clearly meant as an intimidation tactic and the police are cartoonishly evil. Police: Don't make any sudden move. Hands over your head. Get out of bed. Nova: My name is Nova Bordelon. I am the owner of this house and the only person who lives here. I have no weapons, why have you broken into my home? Police: We have a warrant to search this property for narcotics. Police: Looks like a bunch of liberal trash from this liberal trash. Nova: Huh. Hey, wait! Police: How long have you lived at this residence? You need to answer me. How long have you lived here? Nova: I've been here for 13 months. Police: How can you afford a home like this by yourself? You taking money from the movement like all your friends? Nova: I work. I have speaking engagements. My book was on the Times bestsellers list. And our website gets over two million unique impressions a month. Police: Professional shit stirrer. Got it. When a neighbor comes over to ask what's going on the police needlessly escalate the situation, drawing their weapons on him and pushing them both to the ground. Dominic: Are you okay? Nova: Dominic, there's nothing you can do. Police: You live in this residence? Dominic: I'm her neighbor. Police: Then this doesn't concern you. Dominic: Anything you do to her, anyone on this block concerns me, this is my community. Where's my phone? I want to document it. Police: No, no. Dominic: You can't stop me from recording. [Nova and Dominic Thrown on Ground By Police] Dominic: Hey. No, no, no. Look at me. Focus on me. Don't give them that power, Nova. We're okay.  Nova: We're okay. When she sees her sister Charley Bordelon West (Dawn-Lyen Gardner) after the police encounter, Nova says, "They terrorized me. But really, this is about my power... My activism, my voice... My skin, my gender... My everything." Charlie tells Nova that "They didn't take anything from you. They gave you something. More power. More fire." Charley has decided that she is going to run for Congress, a prospect Micah is quite excited about when it comes to the thought of “My mom on The Squad” and “hanging with AOC and the crew,” and this furthers her resolve. When Charley calls her DNC contact to announce, he explains that “our real goal is to change the political dynamics across the map, to give people a reason to hope again, and a reason to vote again, just like Stacey [Abrams] did in Georgia.” Of course, only in a show created by leftist BLM activist Ava DuVernay would The Squad and Stacey Abrams be talked about in glowing terms, along with discourse on "modern-day forms of slavery" and ham-handed depictions of racist white cops. • DEFCON-1: Joy Reid MELTS DOWN Over Youngkin Surging in Virginia
by Curtis Houck on October 27, 2021 at 12:40 am

Folks, feast your eyes and ears on some pure liberal panic. On Monday and Tuesday, MSNBC’s The ReidOut and host Joy Reid and a cadre of liberals hit the panic button upon seeing Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin has a shot at pulling off an upset over former Governor Terry McAuliffe (D).  Of course, they took it upon themselves to lie about Youngkin on education, racism, voting, and insist he’s “worse” than “MangoMussolini” Donald Trump. And when discussing the Loudoun County teen who was raped by a boy wearing a skirt in a girl’s bathroom, one panelist said “Youngkin and surrogates have...exploit[ed]” it to “demagogu[e] about trans kids.” Reid used the campaign as the c-block for Monday’s show, lamenting Youngkin “could reverse all of” the “progressive laws” implemented by outgoing Governor Ralph Northam (D) (whom she wouldn’t point out wore blackface) and falsely accused Youngkin of being “against racial inclusiveness in schools and says an abortion ban in Virginia is appropriate.”     Speaking to Democratic strategist Cornell Belcher, Reid seemed panicked as, knowing she’ll never be subject to so-called fact-checkers, claimed Youngkin would ban abortion: So, can you explain why it’s even close, when you have a Trump-backed Republican who’s vowing to turn it basically into a mini-Texas on abortion and who’s, you know, out there doing the — whining about Critical Race Theory, which isn’t taught in Virginia schools? The facts show otherwise as, on Texas, Youngkin has said he wouldn’t sign such a bill into law and, on CRT, it’s patently false to say race-based education hasn’t arrived in our classrooms. Reid also called for a permanent ban on Republican officeholders because “[g]iving any Republican power seems so dangerous” as, no matter their shade of red, they’ll be “trying to steal the 2024 election for Trump” and fudge vote tallies. Going down an inevitable conclusion, Reid warned that “he is no different than any other Republican” and voters need to “[p]ay attention...because it’s the ones who try to sneak in under the radar, a lot of times they’re even worse.” Youngkin must have been on Reid’s mind and that of her pals on the McAuliffe campaign as, right on cue, she opened Tuesday’s show with the campaign and the narrative peddled at a McAuliffe rally that Youngkin hates Black women because a woman in one of his campaign ads called for the banning of Toni Morrison’s Beloved in 2013.     Reid used that as a jumping-off point to claim “Glenn Trumpkin” was engaging in race-baiting by running a campaign “based on...the delicate feelings of conservativ-ish white suburbanites” while “pouring high octane gasoline on cultural anxiety over jobs and societal change and weaponizing anything that makes white Christians feel icky” (click “expand”): We begin The ReidOut with Beloved. The Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Novel Laureate Toni Morrison that tells the story of a runaway enslaved woman named Sethe, who kills her baby daughter to spare the child from a traumatic life in bondage...[A]pparently, for some white parents, the real pain isn’t about black people. No, no. The pain is actually about them, their feelings. Back in 2013, one white parent advocated banning Beloved from Virginia schools because it gave her son, then a high school senior, nightmares. That parent appeared in a new ad Monday by the Republican running for governor of Virginia, Glenn Youngkin, who has vowed to ban teaching critical race theory, which is not taught in public schools, only in law schools. But no matter. He wants to ban Beloved too.  [S]uch tactics are one of the many reasons that this is the political race to pay close attention to. It tells you everything you need to know about the Republican playbook leading into next week and next year. Glenn Trumpkin — sorry, I mean, Glenn Youngkin — is locked in a dead-heat with Democrat Terry McAuliffe...Youngkin is endorsed by MangoMussolini himself, but acting just moderate enough to try to snag those suburban swing voters that he needs to prevail. The fight for the white suburb vote is happening there, but also throughout the country, even in states like New Jersey with Republicans trying to seize control, based on playing on the delicate feelings of conservativ-ish white suburbanites. The tactic is nothing new. The Republicans have simply followed Trump's lead, pouring high octane gasoline on cultural anxiety over jobs and societal change and weaponizing anything that makes white Christians feel icky; which is apparently a lot, like losing a fair election and not getting to have the president that they wanted, like having to engage in our actual history because let's face it, this isn't a war against critical race theory.  Reid continued spewing her vile bile, claiming Youngkin and his party were against books on Martin Luther King Jr., “facts and knowledge,” trans children so as not to incur any “cis tears,” and “masks and vaccines” because they prevent people from killing themselves with Covid. Back in reality, Youngkin released an ad supporting the vaccine and encouraging Virginians to get it. Supposedly a journalist, The 19th’s Errin Haines said “the racial playbook” Youngkin’s using of the Beloved-banning supporter “is not limited to the Big Lie of a rigged election or voter fraud” as “[r]ace-based appeals to white voters are an increasingly perennial aspect of GOP politics.” Reid then touted a cartoonishly dumb ad from the pedophile-hiding Lincoln Project, which claimed Youngkin supports “[a]nti-Semitism, racism, deny gay couple the rights to marry, [and] that ugly Charlottesville hate.” Right on cue, she told Lincoln Project senior adviser Stuart Stevens that Youngkin’s the kind of person who’s “saying to white parents you have to fear books about black people or about white people ever having done anything that wasn't amazing.” Yes, Joy. White suburbanites think slavery was our country’s crowning achievement. As New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg would do afterward, Stevens obliged and said the campaign hinges on whether Virginians want to support racism (click “expand”): STEVENS: Ultimately, this is all about race. And, you know, I wrote a book about this called It Was All a Lie. Racism: The Original Sin in the Modern Republican Party. And we used to, as Republicans, admit this and try to change, at least. I mean, Ken Melmann went before the NAACP in 2005, chairman of the party, and apologized for the Southern Strategy. All that’s out the window now. This is really a straight up simple race. Donald Trump lost Virginia by ten points on November 3rd, 2020. If you didn't vote for Donald Trump November 3rd, 2020 why would you vote for him on November 2nd, 2021? If you didn’t vote for Donald Trump on November 3, why would you vote for him on November 2, 2021? He's Trump's candidate. And this — this issue over the only African-American woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize — Nobel Literature Prize is just — embodies all of these things. It's about denying of history, as you were saying. It's about race and look, what is this about cancel culture? They’re trying to cancel the only African-American female Noble laureate in literature? It just shows the complete fraud nature of the entire Republican ethos net. (....) GOLDBERG: They will make it out as if there is these kinds of Maoist reeducation sessions going on in elementary schools. I think that Glenn Youngkin, in some sense, has done us a favor by telling us, no, this is what they're talking about. They're talking about banning Tony Morrison. You know, They're talking — they've been talking about banning all sorts of, you know, sort of, historical — the legitimate teaching of history. This isn't about, you know, kind of browbeating your kids about white privilege. This is about giving them a well rounded education.  Goldberg also touched on the Loudoun County rape, claiming that “Youngkin and surrogates have been running and demagoging about trans kids in schools and trans bathrooms and there was a horrible rape of a — of a — of a high school girl in Virginia that they've been using and sort of exploiting to act as if trans people are predators[.]” Before the A-block wrapped, Reid and Stevens claimed without evidence that, if elected, Youngkin and all blue-state Republican governors would fabricate election totals to ensure Trump returns to office in January 2025 (click “expand”): REID: [I]f they succeed in taking back states that tend to vote Democratic in presidential years, states like Virginia, states like New Jersey. Is there any doubt in your mind that those governors, I don't care what they're pretending to be now, are going to use their positions to try to take the election for Trump if he runs in 2024, including Youngkin?  STEVENS: Yeah, sadly, I think not. This is what Donald Trump, who couldn't name a governor in America a few years ago, is so interested suddenly in governors. It's because they know that they can pass laws — they're going to try to pass laws that, if the states are close in 2024, they're going to try to overturn the election with these Republican legislatures. There’s not really any secret about this. They've made it clear this is all part of a sort of concentrated strategy and again, it's mostly about race. What was the effort to deny certification? It was based upon those areas that were so mysterious that were mostly Black and supposedly illegal voting. It's because the country is changing and Republicans had a basic choice. They could adapt and appeal to the non-white voters or they could try to make it harder for non-white voters to vote and tragically, they have taken that path. • NYT’s 10K-Word Kenosha Riot Story Obsesses Over Kyle Rittenhouse, Scary ‘Paramilitaries'
by Clay Waters on October 26, 2021 at 10:48 pm

New York Times story editor Charles Homans unloaded 10,000-words of ideologically charged pot-stirring in the form of an upcoming Sunday Magazine piece “Kyle Rittenhouse and the New Era of Political Violence -- What brought the teenager and so many others to the streets of Kenosha, Wis., equipped for war?” Rittenhouse was the 17-year-old who shot three people at a riot, two fatally, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during left-wing rioting that transpired after the police shooting of Jacob Blake in August 2020. The Homans lament didn’t avoid the violence on the streets, but was more concerned about armed men defending property than the Black Lives Matter-affiliated rioters destroying it. ….Over the following nights, Kenoshans found themselves inside a compressed version of the national experience since the killing of George Floyd three months earlier. A demonstration at the site of the shooting grew larger and angrier and gave way to smashed police cruisers; an officer was knocked unconscious with a brick….Several streets’ worth of businesses and a parole office went up in flames…. Yet somehow it was the right-wing media’s fault for showing this truth. The footage ran in fiery loops on Fox News and Newsmax. It fueled rumors and conspiracy theories, outraged monologues on talk radio and conversations within the White House, which themselves spilled back onto Fox News. It ricocheted around the online platforms themselves, among people who, by the third day, Aug. 25, were convinced they had to do something -- who, when reaching for an explanation of what they had done after the fact, would often reach for a video…. …. Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, who lived just across the state line in Illinois, arrived in Kenosha the night before. The next day, he joined several other young men in the defense of the dealership where Harris encountered him. Less than two hours later, he would shoot three men, killing two and wounding the third, and transforming himself, in an instant, into a Rorschach test. Homans seemed to realize he didn’t have much of a hit piece on Rittenhouse, so widened his angle to smear all armed citizen groups, even those defending life and property, as dangerous “paramilitaries." The video of Rittenhouse’s movements on the street that night clearly shows Joseph Rosenbaum, whom Rittenhouse encountered earlier that evening, pursuing him across the lot and eventually throwing a plastic bag at him….A minute later, a crowd chased Rittenhouse up the street, and after Rittenhouse fell, several people lunged for him. Rittenhouse shot one of them, Anthony Huber, who was swinging a skateboard, and another, Gaige Grosskreutz, who appeared to be reaching for his own handgun. Rosenbaum and Huber died within minutes; Grosskreutz, who was shot in the arm, survived…. Homans didn’t emphasize that the shootings appear justified as self-defense against men with violent criminal records. Check out Joseph Rosenbaum’s less-than-stellar record in prison, in which he served a full 10-year sentence. Homans built up a head of steam for his paranoid conclusion that got the discussion back around to Donald Trump and January 6. ….In the months after Kenosha, similar armed coalitions showed up at “Stop the Steal” rallies protesting imagined threats to the election at several state Capitols…. All of these episodes looked, in retrospect, like steppingstones on the way to the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol, where a coalition of standard-issue Trump voters, QAnon true believers and militiamen united in an attempt to blow up American democracy in order to save the country from their perceived enemies. We had entered a new era in which there would always be an enemy and someone ready to meet them. It was clear, by then, that what happened in Kenosha was about something much bigger than the buildings that burned there. It did not really matter if dozens of buildings were burning or one was. It did not really matter if buildings were burning at all. Of course, buildings were burning, in Kenosha and across the country in the summer of 2020, fires set by left-wing “protestors.” But Homans can’t stop obsessing about the right, guns, and January 6.

  • Nets Ignore McAuliffe’s Ties to Firm Fighting AGAINST Rape Victims
by Nicholas Fondacaro on October 26, 2021 at 10:33 pm

As NewsBusters has been reporting in recent days, the broadcast networks were going all-in on trying to keep Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s dwindling chances to win the gubernatorial in Virginia alive. But while they take McAuliffe’s side against Republican Glenn Youngkin, they were leaving him completely unvetted. Luckily we had The Daily Wire to investigate the Democrat’s ties to a law firm that fights against rape victims and with which he has taken a paycheck as recently as this election year. Instead of reporting on McAuliffe’s connection to this firm during Tuesday’s NBC Nightly News, chief White House correspondent Kristen Welker flew the campaign’s banner. “But Youngkin has gained ground by running attack ads highlighting this controversial McAuliffe comment, which McAuliffe insists was taken out of context,” she proclaimed, playing a soundbite of his contempt for parents having a say in education. If Welker was concerned that McAuliffe’s words were “taken out of context,” she could have looked to her colleague and NBC political director, Chuck Todd. He was the moderator for the debate where McAuliffe made the comment; he was even in the shot she used in the report. Meanwhile, ABC’s World News Tonight was busy gushing about a guy who found and bought his mother’s old '71 Cutlass Supreme. And CBS Evening News was busy hyping a Japanese princess that rejected a dowry and lost her title. So, it was up to Daily Wire investigative reporter Luke Rosiak to shed light on the story.     “A law firm that employed Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe has made a cottage industry out of aggressively fighting victims of alleged sexual abuse in schools, being paid huge sums by school administrators whom the girls say ignored their accusations,” he reported And according to his findings, they would go against young girls who were the victims of truly heinous acts: In one case, the Hunton Andrews Kurth law firm, where McAuliffe served as a senior adviser from 2019 until recently, is battling a young woman who says that she was repeatedly raped on her Fairfax County middle school campus as a 12-year old and that she was slashed with a knife, burned with a lighter, and anally penetrated. They would even try to get victims’ identities exposes even when they were facing death threats from their attackers. “The law firm and McAuliffe’s campaign refused to comment on whether the law firm still employs McAuliffe by the deadline but McAuliffe reported income apparently linked to the firm in 2021, after announcing his run for governor of Virginia on December 8, 2020,” Rosiak reported. The firm was also casing a case to the Supreme Court where they hoped to upend protections for young victims “while protecting administrators who failed to act.” The networks also omitted how, during his first run as governor, McAuliffe blocked “a bipartisan bill that would have required parents to be notified of explicit material and assigned reading,” as reported by Alexandria Hoff on Fox News Channel’s Special Report, on Tuesday. By ignoring McAuliffe’s ties to this firm, the networks were flaunting just how politically driven they were. Because if he was a Republican, they would be all over it. But they want to keep the Virginia governor's mansion in Democratic hands. This blackout of Terry McAuliffe’s ties to a law firm fighting against rape victims was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Ring on ABC, Salonpas on CBS, and Consumer Cellular on NBC. Their contact information is linked so you can tell them about the biased news they fund. That dead-heat race is being viewed as a referendum on the President as well. Kristen Welker went to Virginia for us. [Cuts to video] KRISTEN WELKER: Tonight, a critical test for President Biden campaigning next door in Virginia. But with Mr. Biden's poll numbers dropping, can he boost support for Democrat Terry McAuliffe, a former governor? TERRY MCAULIFFE: This election is about the next chapter of Virginia. WELKER: The President is the latest top Democrat to barnstorm in the state. BARACK OBAMA: We're at a turning point right now. WELKER: Still, despite the high-powered help, McAuliffe is locked in a tight race against Republican Glenn Youngkin in a state that's recently gone blue. GLENN YOUNGKIN: We've got people flocking to our campaign. [Transition] People walk up to me every minute and say, Glenn, I'm a lifelong Democrat. I'm voting for you. WELKER: The Republican businessman walking a fine line when it comes to the marquee name in his party, former President Trump. Mr. Trump endorsed Youngkin but has not campaigned with him. McAuliffe is trying to link Youngkin to the former President and it's working on some early voters. Why did you vote for Terry McAuliffe? UNIDENTIFIED MAN: Because I'm supporting the Democrat this year. I didn't even look at the Republican candidate because of the last four years honestly. WELKER: But Youngkin has gained ground by running attack ads highlighting this controversial McAuliffe comment, which McAuliffe insists was taken out of context. MCAULIFFE: I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach. WELKER: A strategy that could be resonating in the all-important suburbs, which Mr. Trump lost in 2020. UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN: I'm going to vote for Youngkin. [Transition] I think, like, you know, with these school board meetings and everything like that, I just like -- everything's in chaos. WELKER: And tonight, there are still voters who are undecided, including Democrat Christina Davis. Do you know who you're going to vote for for Virginia governor? CHRISTINA DAVIS: I have no idea. I'm still up and down and seeing what people are really going to do and if they're true to their word. (...)

  • Nets Skip Loudoun Students Protesting School Board that Covered Up Rape
by Nicholas Fondacaro on October 26, 2021 at 8:48 pm

The Loudoun County “gender-fluid” rape story was a raging fire the liberal media were desperately pretending wasn’t happening as their candidate for governor Terry McAuliffe (D) was floundering. But on Tuesday, county high school students staged a walkout to protest the liberal school board that tried to cover up the attacks. The walkout and a guilty ruling against the attacker went unmentioned by the broadcast networks. Instead of reporting on the Virginia scandal that could help swing the tight gubernatorial race to Republican Glenn Youngkin, ABC’s World News Tonight hyped a guy who found and bought his mother’s old '71 Cutlass Supreme. On the CBS Evening News, anchor Norah O’Donnell was too busy gushing about a Japanese princess that declined a dowry and lost her title. Meanwhile, NBC Nightly News was trying to keep McAuliffe’s campaign afloat in its final week. In addition to parroting the talking point that his contempt for parents at a debate was “taken out of context,” and ignoring Youngkin’s surge in the polls, chief White House correspondent Kristen Welker touted how the Democratic plan to tie Youngkin to former President Trump was “working.” While the liberal broadcast networks were trying to keep the damaging story under wraps, Fox News Channel Special Report anchor Bret Baier dove right into it. “Back here in this region, students at a Northern Virginia high school walked out of class today to protest the handling of a sexual assault case involving a male and female student,” he announced.     “Some Loudoun County high school students walked out today protesting the local school board handled the May sexual assault,” reported chief Washington correspondent Mike Emanuel. “The incident involved a male student wearing a skirt attacking a female student in a girl's bathroom at Stone Bridge High School.” He also recalled the attempted cover-up by the school board and how the family of the first victim was out to get justice: Loudoun County father Scott Smith was arrested after Loudoun County Superintendent Scott Ziegler said there wasn't evidence of assaults occurring in school restrooms. Now that a juvenile judge found it happen, the family attorney [Elicia Brand] says, quote, “The Smith family stands stronger than ever in moving forward to ensure that response in the Loudoun County school system are held accountable.” Emanuel concluded with the parents who were giving the school board a piece of their mind as he delivered his report. “At tonight's school board meeting, already numerous parents have called for the resignation of Superintendent Ziegler and members of the school board arguing they are serving themselves and not the children of this community,” he said.   Parents and residents of Loudoun County speaking at tonight’s school board meeting are carrying signs featuring Superintendent Scott Ziegler’s email indicating he was aware of a sexual assault in a school bathroom, contrary to his statements in past meetings pic.twitter.com/CoKDPMzFz4 — Amber Athey (@amber_athey) October 26, 2021   The Spectator editor Amber Athey was in the meeting room and published video tweets of the comments from parents and other county residents. “A woman who works on behalf of assault victims notes that Loudoun Superintendent Scott Ziegler in his email offered counseling to students who may have been affected by Scott Smith’s angry outburst over his daughter’s rape, but not to sexual assault victims,” she reported. She also noted the school board forced commenters to social distance and only allowed 10 speakers in at a time. But the media section was not socially distanced. This blackout of the student protesting the liberal school board that covered up a rape was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Ring on ABC, Salonpas on CBS, and Consumer Cellular on NBC. Tonight, parents get their say at a school board meeting which is likely to be heated. All this comes amid controversy over how the Biden administration and national education leaders are dealing with unhappy parents. Chief Washington correspondent Mike Emanuel reports tonight from Loudoun County, Virginia. [Cuts to video] MIKE EMANUEL: Some Loudoun County high school students walked out today protesting the local school board handled the May sexual assault. The incident involved a male student wearing a skirt attacking a female student in a girl's bathroom at Stone Bridge High School. Loudoun County father Scott Smith was arrested after Loudoun County Superintendent Scott Ziegler said there wasn't evidence of assaults occurring in school rest rooms. Now that a juvenile judge found it happen, the family attorney says, quote, “The Smith family stands stronger than ever in moving forward to ensure that response in the Loudoun County school system are held accountable.” UNIDENTIFIED SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER (Loudoun County): Consent agenda please raise your hand and say aye. EMANUEL: That set the staining for a school board this evening. The National School Boards Association, on September 29, said actions parents were taken at school board meetings were “equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.” The organization later apologized. Days later, NSBA President Viola Garcia was appointed to the National Assessment Governing Board to help oversee student progress nationally. Then, Attorney General Merrick Garland laid out how the Justice Department would respond to threats against school officials. LISA MONACO (Deputy Attorney General): The job of the department of justice working with state and local law enforcement is to prevent violence. EMANUEL: Prominent GOP officials insisted Garland rescind his memo. REP. JIM JORDAN (R-OH): That press release talked about the National Security Division at the FBI. That's the division that deals with domestic threats, domestic terrorist threats. EMANUEL: Over the weekend, former President Obama weighed in. BARACK OBAMA: Instead of stoking anger, aimed at school boards and administrators [Transition] we should be making it easier for teachers and schools to give our kids the world-class education they deserve. [Cuts back to live] EMANUEL: At tonight's school board meeting, already numerous parents have called for the resignation of Superintendent Ziegler and members of the school board arguing they are serving themselves and not the children of this community. The parents insist they will not be stopped. Bret? BAIER: Mike Emanuel live in Loudoun County tonight. Mike, thanks.
